5 Exciting Ways to Spend Your Sundays!

Ah, Sundays. My absolute favourite day of the week. I guess a lot of us spend far too much time worrying about Monday and the week ahead, when we should be enjoying our day of relaxation and making the most of it! Here are my top five ways to have fun on Sundays.

 

1. Daydream at the movies

Whether you take yourself to the movies or create your own cinema at home, watching an inspiring film on a Sunday can just make you feel positive about life. If you’re in need of some escapism, a good film can transport you to an entirely different world for a few amazing hours. One of my favourites follows the journey of Coco Chanel, the classic fashion designer, through her life from a young orphan in a convent school to the worldwide fashion phenomenon we know today. Jobs is another fantastic watch, detailing the inspiring story of Steve Jobs and his creation of the Apple brand. And of course, if you want some classic inspiration, nothing can beat Coyote Ugly and Save The Last Dance on a lazy Sunday evening!

2. Live, laugh, love

By far my favourite way to spend my Sundays is enjoying time with friends and family. There is no better way to de-stress and forget about Mondays. Go out for Sunday lunch, have a few drinks and enjoy each other’s company!

 

3. Indulge in a home spa

Perfect if you’re feeling a bit tired and fragile from Saturday night, having a relaxing bath is a nice easy way to indulge, pamper yourself and relieve stress with no energy required. Light the scented candles, treat yourself to a nice face mask, read, and soak.

 

4. Eat like a queen

I’ve got no time for healthy food on a Sunday, for me it’s a day of indulgence. And why not! So often nowadays everyone’s watching what they eat and living by healthy rules. Why not treat yourself to a new recipe you’ve never tried before? I tried this Thai Chicken Soup with Basil and Lime today, so simple to make but so tasty! Or why not bake something classic? Apple pie anyone? 🍰

5. Go on an adventure

Explore somewhere nearby that you’ve never been to, or take a drive and head out for the day somewhere new. Visit a castle and learn about the history, or find a beautiful walk. Two of my favourite walks are Hardcastle Crags and Dovestone Reservoir. The first is a walk through the trees with stepping stones across rivers and beautiful waterfalls. The second is a picturesque reservoir with various routes and hikes to be explored.

Whichever way you choose to spend your Sunday, make sure you do something fun for you. We spend so much of our time trying to be healthy and productive, we need to remember to spend time relaxing and indulging too! Enjoy your Sunday 🙂
